Air Care recognizes that we all have a responsibility to protect our environment. Unfortunately, emissions of certain synthetic chemicals—including CFCs, halons, and HCFCs can damage the ozone layer. There is actually (and sadly) an “ozone hole” over the South Pole. Previously, the United States phased out of CFCs and halons in the mid 90’s. Now, we must turn our attention to reduce HCFC consumption in a methodical and responsible way. According to the 609 EPA rule, mixing refrigerants is illegal and anybody caught doing so will be heavily fined. The below PDF files provide additional information on this important topic.
