Reason #1 to Choose Rheem: A History of Comfort
From the smallest part to the complete AC system, Rheem builds quality into everything they make to ensure it’s tough enough to deliver the ultimate performance homeowners can count on day after day, year after year1.
Rheem was founded in 1925 by Richard and Donald Rheem, who were earlier pioneers of steel drums and other metal products. In the 1930s, the company began manufacturing water heaters, boilers and tanks, and by the 1950s, Rheem created a line of HVAC offerings, rolling out it’s very first central AC and heater unit, the Rheemaire, in 1954.
Since then, Rheem has modernized its HVAC systems with innovative technologies, dependability and design. Today, Rheem is one of the most recognized heating and cooling companies in the world, with seven factories in the Americas and distributions to more than 75 countries.
Reason #2 to Choose Rheem: A Variety of HVAC Products
Rheem offers some of the finest air conditioners in the business—all backed by quality parts, processes, warranties and support.
Rheem offers three levels of HVAC product levels: the entry-level Classic Series, the upscale Class Plus series and the top-of-the-line Prestige series2.

What is a SEER Rating?
SEER stands for Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio, which measures the output of an AC system during a typical cooling season (like summer), divided by the energy it uses to cool during that same season. A higher SEER rating means your AC is more energy efficient during certain conditions. According to the US Department of Energy central air conditioning standards, Florida AC systems must have at least a 14 SEER rating.
What Size AC Unit Do I Need?
Rheem AC systems can cool up to 400 square feet per one ton of AC capacity3, and a model’s capacity ranges from 2 to 5 tons. If you want to calculate the size of AC unit to install in your home, you can estimate using your home’s square footage and compare it to each Rheem unit’s tonnage number. However, the best way to determine the right AC unit—based on its optimal performance and features—is to get a professional opinion from your Clearwater AC experts at Air Care.

Reason #3 to Choose Rheem: Tested Under Tough FL Conditions
A new HVAC system gives you peace of mind on performance and efficiency, especially under hot and humid Florida weather conditions and salty air near the Tampa Bay area beaches.
One of Rheem’s key differentiators from other AC systems is in its testing, which goes beyond industry requirements to create extreme scenarios for products to perform under, including4:
- Thousands of hours of extreme environmental testing, including salt spray, rain, snow, freezing rain and temperatures between -20°F and 130°F
- Third-party testing, which allows Rheem to mimic five years of the harshest weather conditions in just 16 weeks
- Extensive field testing from Alaska to Florida, that not only ensures optimal performance, but also provides ongoing research for more innovative solutions
- Vibration testing to ensure AC systems are protected during transportation and shipping

“Dunedin is an amazing town one the Gulf coast of Florida, and while it is beautiful here, having a working air conditioner is a must. When my air conditioner broke this summer, I got the number for Air Care from a friend who uses them, and I have to say that their service is amazing. I was able to finance a new AC installation through them, which is convenient, and their whole staff was very nice and helpful about the problem I was having. They did an awesome job!” – Melissa from Dunedin, FL
